Henbart takes a leadership approach to strategic energy management throughout its property portfolio. We strive to implement sustainability practices for the sake of environmental stewardship and to ease the burden of tenant costs.

Our first objective has been to create target energy goals and resource consumption reduction for each of our buildings. This includes implementing monthly building level reports from our property managers which highlight energy performance data. Our engineer manager went through BEEP training and BetterBricks scoping training to ensure that best sustainability efforts take place. We work together with our property managers and tenants on many energy reduction efforts including the following:

• Building energy performance benchmarks
• Implementing control system upgrades
• Refining HVAC system operations
• Creating case studies which demonstrate the value of sustainability with a focus on the use of building benchmarking tool, green leasing and building scoping for small firms
• Becoming involved with BOMA Kilowatt Crackdown, City of Seattle’s Climate Action Challenge
• Focusing on opportunities to integrate energy management into the due diligence process
